Chanel "Pirate" (as well as two other polishes, "Rose Caché" & "Rose Exubérant") accompanied Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick release. First I didn't really care for "Pirate" - but then I found out it's a jelly! As I love jellies - especially red jellies - it was obvious that I needed to have this one in my stash :-D
It's a subdued, never too bright red & while it has a blue undertone, it should look gorgeous on a variety of skintones. Depending on the lighting, it can look a little darker, almost bordering on ruby or rather vivid & bold. It's incredibly shiny, too!
As reds are notoriously hard to photograph, I can't guarantee you that my swatches are 100% true to life, but I did my best to show you "Pirate" as good as I can:
Even though "Pirate" has a jelly finish, it's pretty opaque & 2 thick coats should do. In these pics I did 3 thin ones & it dried very quickly.
In my pics you might see a little VNL peeking through, but I assure you it's absolutely invisible IRL.
If you love red jellies as much as I do, I think you'll love this one.
Thanks for looking :-)

Going Underground
Last night the band of my best guy friend had a gig at a party & they asked me if I wanted to join them & sing a few songs. Unfortunately the party turned into a big mess when a few guys started a fight & we needed to stop the concert after 2 songs...not exactly fun :-o
So unfortunately no pics of me on stage, only the ones I took before I left. I decided to wear a wig - as you might have noticed this one is my favorite one :-D - because it makes me feel really comfy:
lips: MAC Dark Side
polish: Essence Love, Peace, Purple
Don't ask me where I was looking at in this pic *lol* I've no clue, but it was the only pic that didn't come out completely ridiculous :-D
shirt: Kik
leggings: Bader
shoes: Deichmann

Don't Call It A Comeback
Hi guys!
Long time no see! I'm very sorry for my long absence, but due to chronical health issues (I don't want to go into detail here) I cannot post as regularly as I'd like to. I'll try my best to post as often as I can, though.
So here's a makeover I did yesterday, the warm weather inspired me to go for something a little colorful.
Unfortunately my camera always makes me look so much paler than I actually am *Boo!*
face: Chanel Vitalumière Aqua B40
cheeks: NARS Orgasm blush
eyes: MAC Aquadisiac e/s on lower lid & blended into crease. MAC Vanilla e/s as higlighter. Carbon e/s as liner on upper & lower lashline. Smudged with Aquadisiac e/s on lower lashline.
lips: YSL Rouge Volupté # 26 Tender Peach.
nails: Essence King of Mints (You Rock LE)
This is the outfit I wore, here you can see that I already have a bit of a tan *yay* :-D
As promised, I'm trying to explore other colors besides black & I think I like this dress so much because it's a compromise: It's black mixed with other colors. This way the change doesn't hurt that much *lol*
dress: Tally Weijl
shoes: Street
jewelry: I don't remember where I bought it.
Thanks for looking :-)

Pattern Against User
Hi guys!
I'm sorry, you must have thought I kept you hanging, but that's of course not the case :-D We just partied a bit this weekend, with the good weather over here, how could we not be in a party-mood?! *lol*
My cam is working again, the memory software is broke, but I bought a memory card & now it's working fine again.
Thes pics were taken a few days ago (before it broke), I completely forgot I had this pair of shorts in my closet *lol* I hadn't worn them before, they still had the price tag on them.
shirt: H&M
shorts: H&M
shoes: Street
jewelry: from different little boutiques
eyes: MAC "Shroom" all over lid, MAC "Haux" in & above crease. MAC "Carbon" & "Feline" eye pencil to line.
face: MAC Mineralize Stainfinish foundation in NW20
cheeks: MAC "Mighty Aphrodite" blush
lips: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in "Liberté". (So far I only have a sample, but I plan to buy the fuull size asap. It's a gorgeous color, very moisturizing & long lasting for such a light formula.

Don't Paint It Black
Hi guys :-)
I'm sorry, I haven't posted in a while & I can't check your blogs as often as I'd like to :-( So please don't think I'm ignoring you, I just happen to be really busy these days & can't sit in front of the computer as often as I'd like to.
Today I'd like to show you an outfit that I wore a few days ago. As much as I love the color black, I decided this year I should try to think out of the box & try to wear more colorful outfits.
I already bought several floral print dresses & skirts, but it's still too cold to wear them. Even though it has gotten warmer with lots of sunshine, unfortunately the air is still pretty cold.
So this is my first take on a not solely black outfit:

My boyfriend came home & made fun of me while I tried to take a pic.
I couldn't stop giggling because he acted so silly :-D
The pattern of my dress.
Jewelry & Chanel "Black Pearl" polish.
Earring.
My favorite boots ever! They are so comfortable & I wear them all the time.
dress: C&A
scarf: From a little boutique near to where I live.
leggins: American Apparel
shoes: Deichmann
Me, wearing my nude everyday make up. In everyday life, I often don't have the time to put on a whole lot of make up (& admittingly, I can be a little lazy, too *g*).
Sorry, the quality of my photo is even worse than usual. I've no clue why that is, I think the lighting was pretty bad.

eyes: MAC "Shroom" all over lid & to highlight. MAC "Satin Taupe" in crease. No liner.
face: MAC Mineralize Satinfinish foundation in NW20
cheeks: MAC "Melba"
lips: MAC "Hug Me"
polish: Chanel "Black Pearl"
I'm also wearing a pigtail headband that I purchased a few weeks ago from eBay.
If I remember correctly, it's a Singapore based seller.
As I could only go from the pictures he posted, I was a little unsure about which color to choose.
Then I decided to go for light brown, even though I think my hair isn't light but rather medium brown. Anyways, turned out the color of the hairband looks exactly like the swatch *yay* IMO, it matches my haircolor pretty well.

Why do days only have 24 hours?!
I've the feeling that this week's going to be rather hectic, at least today was...
There's not much I've to say today, I'm a little tired because I stayed up all night, watching the Oscars.
*Yay* for Natalie Portman & Christian Bale! & Jennifer Hudson looked gorgeous in her red dress, it was my favourite dress of the evening.
I'm wishing you all a great week, stay calm & relaxed ;-D
eyes: MAC "Dalliance" on the whole lid, MAC "Unflappable" in crease & outer V. MAC "Carbon" to line.
face: MAC Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation in NW20, MAC "By Candlelight" MSF.
cheeks: MAC "Sushi Flower" eyeshadow used as blush.
lips: MAC "Ever Hip" lipstick, Chanel "Bikini Peach" glossimer.
nails: OPI "You Don't Know Jacques"

Black Roses
Since I haven't posted for 3 days now, this one will be a little longer to make up for the delay ;-D
It's also my first outfit post (besides the purple dress I posted last week), but unfortunately my camera isn't the best & it didn't came out the way I hoped it would...but now that I took the pics, I'll show it to you anyways.
Today I went to pick my boyfriend up who was in town skateboarding (like he does almost every weekend) & this is how I looked like.
My Fotd:
Happy weekend everyone :-)

Peacocky Look & Matching Mani
The weather gods must have heard me, today there was enough sun to take some photos *yay*
For this nail art I used Orly "Bailamos" as base, then drew random swirls with L.A.Colors Art Deco nail art painter in "Vibrant" & Barielle "Berry Blue".
eyes: (from inside to outside) MAC "Waternymph", "Parrot", "Marvel", "Contrast". "Rapidblack" Penultimate Eye Liner to line.
cheeks: Chanel "Espiègle", NARS "Albatross" as highlighter
lips: Peacocky Kissable Lip Color

Back to the 1940s
This is a 1940s inspired look I did a while ago (some of you might already know this):
eyes: MAC "Blanc Type" on lids, "Wedge" in crease, "Carbon" as a liner
cheeks: BeneFit "Dallas"
lips: MAC "Hang-Up"
nails: Chanel "Rouge Noir"
I love the way women dressed back then, it was so elegant. But if I could choose, I wouldn't want to live in the 1940s, but in the 1920s, preferably in Paris.
If you could travel through time, which era would you choose?

Polkadots & Psychobilly
Last night I did this polkadot nail design:
As a base I used Precision "U Rock & I Roll" a dark grey creme that's completely opaque qith 2 coats. You might even be able to get away with just 1 thick coat, but I always prefer to do 2 thinner coats.
For the dots I used Maybelline Express Finish in "Cherry". It's a vibrant cherry red creme, neither too thick or too thin & therefore perfect for dotting.
Today's makeover is Psychobilly inspired & goes pretty well with the nail design:
eyes: Vanilla as base, Red Brick in the crease, Post Haze above crease & blended into Red Brick. Blacktrack fluidline on upper lashline, Carbon on lower lashline. Post Haze & Red Brick smudged over Carbon.
cheeks: Fleur Power as blush, NARS Albatross as highlighter.
lips: Chanel "Cambon" Rouge Coco lipstick

Burlesque anyone?
A friend created a red & black headpiece for me, so I decided to use it for a Burlesque look:

cheeks: Illamasqua Tremble powder blush, TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer as highlighter

More reds for the holidays
Chanel "Rouge Fatal" is a darker red with brown undertone, but I wouldn't say that it's so warm that cooler skintones couldn't pull it off:
It's extremely pigmented so you can get away with one thick coat, but I did - as almost always - two thinner coats. It has a high shine finish, even without Seche Vite, which I applied nevertheless.
Application was great as well as drying time (10 min w/ Seche Vite).
This polish ranks among my favourite reds of all time, it's a lovely color: Red but - due to the brown undertones - not your random everyday red.
IMO Chanel reds makes the most amazing reds out there!
And to prove my statement from above, I'd like to show you another red from Chanel, "Coromandel":
This is really stunning, it has hidden shimmer that only pops up in the sun or artifical lighting. I really adore the color, it's bright & warm & simply amazing!
If you like to wear warm reds, you need to try this!
It's even more pigmented than "Rouge Fatal", but I still did 2 coats& topped it with Seche Vite.
Application was flawless & drying time was again about 10 min.
