MAC Bare Again with Patina

This is a make-up look I did a while ago. I used one of my fave eyeshadows at the moment, MAC Patina:

I used Patina on my lower lid & Buckwheat in the crease (both from the MAC warm Snowglobe) & Vanilla to highlight. Then I lined with Midnight Flurry & smudged with Buckwheat to make the line softer.

On my cheeks I used MAC "Warm Soul" mineralize blush & on my lips "Bare Again" Sheen Supreme lipstick.

Bobbi Brown "Nude Peach"

With their new spring collection "Neons & Nudes" Bobbi Brown released two new blushes, Nude Pink & Nude Peach (which both will be a permanent addition to their blush line). Being such a sucker for anything peach, I needed to purchase the Nude Peach blush & believe me: It's gorgeous!

Like the name suggests it's a nude peach color which looks very light in the pan, but has great color payoff once applied to the cheeks.

The color isn't completely matte (even though Bobbi Brown declares it as such), but has fine shimmer which isn't obvious on the cheeks (you won't look glitter-y at all), but adds some depth.
It applies beautifully without any streakyness & gives a healthy glow.

As the proud owner ;-D of a zillion+ peach blushes, I tried my best to find any dupes for "Nude Peach", but didn't come up with any :-o
It's really different enough from any other peach blushes I have in my collection to justify keeping it in my stash.

Here I compared it to two MAC blushes, "Pinch o'Peach" & "Melba", but even though the difference isn't that obvious when you look at them in their pans:

It really shows when you swatch them side by side:

While Pinch o'Peach is more pink, Melba is clearly more orange than Nude Peach.

If you're into peach blushes as much as I am & are looking for something that's perfect all year around without out being too bright or summer-y, you might want to give "Nude Peach" a try ;-)

MAC "Red Dwarf"

I'd like to show y'all a new lipstick that I bought yesterday. It's from the current MAC Daphne Guinness color story that was released in Germany about a week ago.

The color I'm talking about is called Red Dwarf & is a pro longwear lipcreme. MAC says it last for a good 12 hours & even though it's a longwear formula, it'll keep your lips soft & hydrated even without a topcoat.

While I'm not sure it'll last for as long as MAC says, I can assure you that it lasts very well. It'll stay on your lips even if you eat a ice cream bowl & some french fries just like I did today :-D
I don't think it keeps your lips as soft as most non-longwear lipsticks do, but it didn't dry out my lips like e.g. MAC's pro longwear lip colors (unless I constantly re-apply the topcoat) do, either.

Red Dwarf is described as blue pink which is fairly accurate, but I'd say it's more of a blue toned raspberry pink than an actual pink - if that makes any sense ;-D It's not too dark, so you can wear it during the day, but of course also for a night out.

When you apply it to the lips, you'll notice that it has a wet consistance which quickly dries down to a semi-matte finish.

It's a gorgeous color which I highly recommend checking out if you're into unusual lip colors like I am ;-)
I can see this working on a variety of skintones.

This is how it looks on my rather pigmented lips:

China Glaze "Brownstone"

Today I'm wearing China Glaze "Brownstone"
It's a brownish red & so lovely! IMO these kinds of reds are much more sexy than your usual red polish - browned reds are the colors of a vixen :-D

The application was great, I used two coats to get complete opacity. The polish is very glossy, too - what's not to love?!

As Brownstone has such a strong 1940s femme fatale vibe (at least to me ;-)) I decided to wear it with a (somewhat) matching lipstick & went for MAC "Retro". (As I have pretty pigmented lips, it shows up on me much lighter than it actually is.)

MAC "Coco Clay"

"Coco Clay" came out with the MAC Fall Color Collection 2011. MAC describes it as "warm chocolate" & while I don't think it's warm but rather neutral toned, the description "chocolate" is definitely spot on. It looks exactly like milk chocolate, totally drool worthy *lol*

The formula was pretty sheer, so 3 coats are needed to reach opacity. Otherwise the polish was really easy to apply, not streaky or anything like that.
If you like brown polishes, you might want to give this one a try.

I've a few other, non polish related pics for you. Today was a pretty sunny day & Dorian enjoyed the good weather standing on our porch:

I also saw several butterflies, among them a small tortoiseshell:

Purple Princess

I'd like to show you another Overall Beauty mineral eye shadow, namely one that's called "Princess".

The Overall Beauty website says that it looks darker in the jar than on the lid & that's spot on.
It's a midtone blue-based purple with a beautiful shimmer. The color payoff is very good & it's easy to blend, too.
Applied over a base (here NYX jumbo eye pencil in "Purple") the color gets more vibrant.

As a huge purple lover, "Princess" is my favorite from the bunch of Overall Beauty eye shadows that I was able to test.

face: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 in NW25

cheeks: NARS Orgasm

eyes: NYX jumbo eye pencil in "Purple" on lower lid, Overall Beauty mineral e/s in "Princess" layered over it & also applied without base in the crease.
MAC "Vanilla" e/s to highlight.
MAC "Feline" kohl power e/p to line, smudged with "Princess" on the lower lashline.

lips: MAC "Ever Hip"

Attention Please: Last Exit!

I'd like to show you another Overall Beauty mineral eye shadow: "Last Exit" which is also part of their Road to Nowhere collection.

The Overall Beauty website says the following "Think late at night with gray skies with just a few stars shimmering in the night. Spooky gray - think about what does the last exit at night always seem to look like."

It's a light to medium shade of grey with silver & a few pink glitter particles that sparkle very nicely when the light hits them.
Adding a base (in this case NYX "Milk" jumbo eye pencil) makes the grey look more metallic.

& last but not least a funny pic (please don't ask me what made me look that thunderstruck - I've no idea *lol*):

face: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 in NW25

cheeks: MAC Amazon Princess (the lighter side)

eyes: Overall Beauty "Last Exit" on lower lid (with NYX jumbo eye pencil in "Milk" as base" & without base in the crease. Highlighter MAC "Vanilla" e/s, Essence liquid eyeliner in "Berlin Story" to line upper lashline. MAC "Feline" kohl power eye pencil to line lower lashline.

lips: MAC "Play Time"

Meet Me on Dead End Street

Today I'd like to show you another Overall Beauty mineral eye shadow. It's called "Deadend Street" & is part of their Road To Nowhere collection.

The Overall Beauty website gives the following description:
"You go for greens and you go for blues, Deadend Street is both! Just depends on the light, that's all."

It's a really gorgeous, a highly pigmented dark turquoise that has an almost metallic like finish - extremely rich looking!

face: MAC studio sculpt SPF15 in NW25

cheeks: NARS "Deep Throat"

eyes: MAC "Undercurrent" pearlglide intense eye liner as a base on lower lid, "Deadend Street" layered over "Undercurrent" on lower lid & without base in crease.
MAC "Vanilla" e/s to highlight. MAC "Carbon" to line upper & lower lashline. "Deadend Street" smudged over "Carbon" on lower lashline.

lips: MAC "Marquise D' "

Dare To Wear Denim

Here's another look I did using an Overall Beauty mineral e/s, namely with "Flashy Denim".

The Overall Beauty website says "Try this denim blue with gold highlights. Works well as eye shadow as well as eye liner."

I agree, it's definitely a denim blue bordering on periwinkle with gold sparkles. It's very well pigmented & easy to work with. What I like in particular is that the gold sparkles actually show up & not disappear once the color is on the lid.
You can't say that about every product that contains sparkles/glitter.

face: NARS sheer glow foundation in "Punjab"

cheeks: NARS "Deep Throat"

eyes: Overall Beauty "Flashy Denim" on lower lid (with MAC "Marine Ultra" Chromaline as base) & also in crease (without base). MAC Vanilla e/s to highlight. MAC "Carbon" e/s to line the upper lashline, MAC "Carbon" e/s layered with Overall Beauty "Flash Denim" on lower lashline.

lips: MAC "Shy Girl"

Fresh Mint

Hi guys,

Today I'd like to show you another mineral e/s from Overall Beauty.
It's called "Dragon Gems" & it's a mint green.
The Overall Beauty website describes it as a light baby soft green with sparkly pink highlights.

Their description is spot on, it's a mint green with pink sparkles that actually show up. Alas, my camera had problems to really capture them. This is the best pic I took (pls click to enlarge):

As with most mineral eye shadows, it works best layered over a base. Application was good, though a tad dusty, but nothing you couldn't deal with. The clue is to use a good brush - this goes for applying eye shadows in general, not only for mineral products. A good brush makes the difference IMO. I use MAC brushes, but from what I hear the ones from Sigma or Real Techniques work very well, too.

I did this look, using "Dragon Gems" on my lower lid (over a base: NYX "Horse Reddish") & in my crease without a base:

face: NARS sheer glow foundation in "Punjab"

cheeks: MAC "Amazon Princess" blush duo (lighter side).

eyes: Overall Beauty "Dragon Gems": on lower lid with NYX "Horse Reddish" as a base, without base in the crease. MAC "Vanilla" e/s to highlight. MAC "Carbon" e/s to line.

lips: MAC "Play Time"

nails: Rescue Beauty Lounge (RBL) "Recycle"

I chose to wear a dark green polish to match the look, RBL "Recycle":

Being Golden

For my first make-up look using an Overall Beauty mineral eye shadow, I decided to pick "Pretty Gold".

The website says "Looking for a gold that works for all eye colors? Then this is the gold for you! Precious metals don't sparkle, they flash. [...] Molten in gold, copper, and desert sun."

My opinion: This is a very nice, rather warm gold. While it's bordering on being metallic, it still has a very nice sparkle effect to it. It's not too light nor too dark & intensity varies as you can layer it over a base to get a bolder effect or apply it without one for a sheer wash of color.
"Pretty Gold" was easy to apply (it wasn't overly dusty or something like that) & a little goes a long way.
The color is lovely, as all other golds in my collection are lighter toned & a darker gold which borders on being copper was something I wanted to have in my stash since quite a while.

I applied Pretty Gold over a base (MAC "Bare Study paint pot) on my lower lid & without base in my crease.

This is the look I created (Including special guest appearance of Dorian, my dog. Do you see him? *gg*):

face: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 in NW25

eyes: MAC "Bare Study" paint pot on lower lid, Overall Beauty "Pretty Gold"    layered over "Bare Study", "Pretty Gold" also in crease. MAC "Vanilla" e/s to highlight. MAC "Push the Edge" pigment to line upper & lower lashline.

cheeks: NARS "Luster" blush, NARS "Albatross" to highlight

lips: MAC "Bordeauxline" powerpoint pencil to fill in lips, MAC "Play Time" lipstick

nail polish: Sephora by OPI "Hell to the No"

The Call Of The Nymphs

Hi everyone!

This is a face of the day I did a few weeks ago. I look way too pale (Why is my cam doing this to me?! So sucky!), so please just imagine me a few shades darker (~ MAC NW 30 at the moment) & everything's fine :-D

Cheeks: Benefit "Coralista"

Eyes: MAC "Vanilla" all over lid, MAC "Deep Truth" above crease, MAC fluidline "Siahi" to line upper lashline, "Carbon" & "Deep Truth" to line lower lashline.

Tiger Lily

Tiger lily, your a silly little jezebel
Midnight medusa, playing games of kiss & tell
Luscious lies upon your lips
Seven sons under your spell
(Roxx Gang "Tiger Lily")

I took these pics quite a while ago (before Easter if I remember correctly), but never posted them, mainly because I didn't like the wig. When I ordered it, I imagined it to be completely different, but alas it wasn't.
It's my first "wig letdown" & as I love all my others, one failure isn't too bad, right?

IMO, I look too much like an Emo - but much worse: my BF thinks I look like Michael Jackson (& I've a hard time taking that as a compliment *lol*).

But then I thought WTH?! I took these pics & now I'm gonna share them with you :-D
So here we go:

Face: MAC Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation NW20
